Please read the following information carefully regarding
fishing and booking/cancellation policies.
Fishing Policies
- Strictly fly-fishing only. A large selection of flies are
available at the Fishery Office. Licences and gill tags also
available at Fishery Office.
- Anglers must be in possession of a valid fishing permit and
a valid State Salmon rod license before commencing to fish,
both of which are available from the fishery office.
- All sea-trout must be returned to the river/lake as per instruction
from the Western Regional Fisheries Board (even if fish is injured).
The bag limit for salmon stands at 1 fish per rod per day.
- Two rods only allowed per beat/boat on any one day.
- Experienced gillies and guides/tutors are available from 9.30am
to 6.00pm but will require a minimum of 7 days' notice. Customers
are requested to supply their gillie or tutor/guide with a packed
lunch and soft drink. Tipping is at the discretion of the angler.
Please pay the gillie/tutor/guide directly at the end of the
day's fishing.
Nomination & Discounted Angling Schemes

Nomination and discounted angling days can be
spread over the entire season.

Nomination and discounted angling scheme holders
can transfer some or all of their days onto friends or relatives.
Please notify the manager of any transfers.

Holders of the 14 day discounted angling will
be entitled to 2 free days on the wild brown trout Ballinahown
fishery.

Payment for nomination and discounted angling
schemes to be made by 01/04/03. Nomination holders are advised
to book their fishing well in advance of the season to secure
preferred locations. Nomination holders are entitled to free
fishing on the river beats and the butts of Fermoyle and Glenicmurrin,
from the 1st of March up to May 31st and on Shanawona and the
School House System for the entire season. Bookings to be made
in writing please.

River Beat 1 can be fished 1 day/week by daily
permit holders during June and 4 days/week by nomination holders.
" Nomination and discounted angling schemes are only valid for
the year in which they were purchased, i.e. scheme days cannot
be carried over to the following year.
Booking & Cancellation Policy
- Customers availing of the daily rates are asked to book their
fishing at least 7 days in advance.
- Credit card details will be required for all bookings. Credit
card details are for security only. Full payment will be required
on arrival at the fishery office.
- Cancellations with over 30 days notice will incur a €50 charge.
Cancellations with less than 30 days' notice will incur 50%
of total charge. Cancellations with less than 3 days notice
will incur full charges.
