Weather conditions have varied from wet and windy to dry and bright.
Anglers began to arrive at Costello and Fermoyle on the 13/06/05.
Greg Perry landed the 1st salmon of the season, a fine fish of 9lbs
taken on Fermoyle. Jean Pierre Maire was next up with a 12lbs fish
also taken on Fermoyle and a 7lbs grilse from Rusheen Lough. Padhraig
McDonagh landed a fine 6lbs grilse on River Beat 2. Geoffrey Fitzjohn,
James Foulkes and Max Foulkes had a fantastic day on River Beat
1 with a final tally of 5 grilse. Geoffrey landed 2 grilse both
5lbs, Max also had 2, 5lbs and 5lbs 8oz. James caught his 5 pounder
on the sea pools. Lucas Schmidt landed a 6 lbs grilse, also on Beat
1.
Colin Wilson ventured upto River Beat 4 and despite the somewhat
bright conditions, still managed to land 6 sea trout all to a size
16 Teal Blue & Silver. Steven Peare and Ken Peare caught 8 sea trout
on Glenicmurrin Lough and Steven went on to land a 6lbs grilse on
River Beat 1. Geoffrey Fitzjohn opted for Fermoyle Lough where he
caught a 5lbs grilse. John Wray was rewarded with 10 sea trout on
River Beat 4.
