& September 2003

Report for August and September 2003. Conditions for August and
particularly September were difficult with long periods of bright,
still weather.
However good rod catches were recorded throughout the fishery. Laurence
Elliott landed 7 sea trout on Glenicmurrin. Lord Harrington and
Mrs Wendy Campbell Grey enjoyed their day on Muckinagh Lough with
a tally of 8 sea trout. Peter Westwater also visited Muckinagh and
was rewarded with 10 sea trout. Richard Stapleton and Stephen Tierney
were pleased with the 16 sea trout they caught on Glenicmurrin.
Peter Westwater landed 10 sea trout, this time on Glenicmurrin.
Peter Hughes and Richard Stapleton also took 10 sea trout from Glenicmurrin
Lough. Greg Perry spent his very productive day between Clogher
and Carrick Loughs where he landed 16 sea trout, 1 salmon(Clogher)
and 7 sea trout and 1 salmon (Carrick).
David Gilpin was rewarded with 9 sea trout after his day on Fermoyle.
Jean Louis and Rene were happy with the 13 sea trout they caught
on Glenicmurrin despite the difficult conditions. Robert Haughton,
Owen Jacob, William Haughton, Charles Jacob, Bob Ludgate and Redmond
Cabot returned for their annual visit to Costello and Fermoyle.
They fished through some unfavourable conditions but still managed
an impressive tally of 77 sea trout for their stay. Highlights included
12 sea trout taken on Glenicmurrin by Robert Haughton and Eoin Jacob.
Robert Haughton landed a further 15 sea trout the following day,
again on Glenicmurrin. Robert Haughton, William Haughton and Bob
Ludgate returned from their day on Fermoyle Lough with a tally of
13 sea trout. The Carraroe Angling Club landed 22 sea trout for
the first leg of their competition.
Eamonn O Brien was very pleased with the 14 sea trout he landed
on Glenicmurrin including a 3lbs fish. Ciaran Dillon caught 8 sea
trout on Fermoyle lough and Jo Kentgens wound up the season with
11 sea trout from Glenicmurrin.
