Apart from one big flood early in the month, August was predominantly dry. In fact as the month progressed the weather became calm and bright which presented our anglers with some challenging conditions.

Nonetheless, some very enjoyable days were recorded. Peter Westwater fished Glenicmurrin Lough on 2 occasions and was rewarded with a combined total of 22 sea trout. He also ventured out onto Fermoyle lough where he caught 6 sea trout. Geoffrey Fitzjohn spent an enjoyable evening on Dereen Lough where he landed a 5 lbs salmon and 2 sea trout. Tony Kavanagh and Sean McCloughlan fished Glenicmurrin and landed 7 sea trout. Peter Hughes and Shane Bisgoode enjoyed their visit to Costello & Fermoyle and were happy with the 8 sea trout that they caught. Richard Freeland and family had a total of 35 sea trout on their second visit.
