Lower Casla River: The river is divided into 4 beats: Beats
1 (including the Sea Pools), 2, 3 and 4. All of these beats have
long deep pools with excellent runs into and from them and can be
fished in any height of water, for both salmon and sea trout. It
is a very scenic and picturesque river.
Glennicmurrin: Glennicmurrin, the first lake
on the system, is divided into four beats. These beats are broken
up by a series of islands, one of which has a charming old stone-built
lunch hut. Because of this lake's shape, it is generally fishable
in most weather conditions, as it is always possible to find a nice
sheltered bay.
Rusheen: This next lake on the system is somewhat
smaller than Glennicmurrin with one boat only. An excellent lake
for seatrout and salmon.
Fermoyle Lake: This is a very well known salmon
and sea trout lake and its butts are famous for its salmon lies.
Carrick Lake: Also has only one boat and is
a lake which, in westerly winds, fishes well for sea trout and has
excellent salmon lies.
Clogher Lake: Going further upstream, you come
to Clogher, equally as famous as Fermoyle for its salmon and sea
trout lies. There is also an enchanting lunch hut on the island
in the middle of the lake.
Shanawona: The uppermost lake on the system.
It is about 45 minutes walk from the road but is well worth the
journey in order to try your luck for the bigger sea trout.
School House Lakes: These are a chain of four
smaller lakes, which can be fished from the shore in stormy weather,
as they are nicely sheltered. This part of the system is exceptionally
good from July onwards and large sea trout run into these lakes.
